*Once on Apache Powder Road
Travel down Apache Powder Road 5.2 miles. You will go past the Apache Powder Plant and cross a cattle guard. At this point the road becomes a dirt road. Continue on Apache Powder until it ends and you are forced to turn left onto Escalante. Go east on Escalante over the cattle guard while passing Cary Rd. on the right and continue straight ahead. You will pass through a fenced openingĀ (there is a sign at the fence that states “DMR Ranch” “Road Closed No Trespassing or Hunting”). Continue straight down the road past the cut off power poles for approximately 1 mile to Efken Place. Turn left onto Efken and proceed to Down By The River at 2255 Efken Place.
NOTE: If you do not turn at Efken, the road becomes narrower and more rutted. There are mesquite trees on both sides of the road. Stop and back up as the road gets worse and dead ends at the river.
