Take the tour!,

Down By The River Bed And Breakfast is a Southeastern Arizona bed and breakfast located on the San Pedro River. The B and B was uniquely designed and newly constructed in 2005 as a Santa Fe style residence with a large guest gathering room for your enjoyment. The gathering room features Native American Indian artifacts for your viewing pleasure. You may want to sit and watch satellite TV or listen to music next to a crackling fire in the fireplace, during the colder seasons.

You can play pool on the over-sized table, read about the history of Arizona, or peruse the astronomy or birding books from the library that we keep available for the guests.

You may want to sit on the porch and watch the sunsets with unfettered views, and at night, view the stars and planets are on display in the dark skies. The inn has a dobsonian telescope that can enhance this experience. There is also a chiminea with wood next to the barbeque and another outdoor fireplace located in the breezeway if you want to sit and enjoy a fire while looking at the stars. The barbeque is available to the guests but only the bird room and the cowboy room have dishes, utensils, refrigerators and microwaves available.

Each of the rooms have been chosen to reflect a the theme that we determined when designing the b and b. The room were decorated to reflect the traditions and life styles that have influenced the way Southeastern Arizona has evolved over the years. Many items that may have been seen in that era are placed in the room to enhance the experience of our guests.

The Mission Room reflects the values brought by the old Spanish Padres and the landmarks and culture they left. The numerous items reflect the things you may have seen in one of the buildings that they inhabited although the room would be considered lavish by their standards.

The Prospector Room theme reflects the many old abandoned mines and ghost towns that made this part of Arizona boom with the production of high grade ores. There are many items that date from that time.

The Cowboy Room offers glimpses into the “Old West” and the outlaws and lawmen that tried to maintain the peace. The room is done with a Victorian flair and many items are from that age.

And lastly the Bird Room offers what makes this part of Arizona attractive today to naturalists who come to see the migratory birds that use the San Pedro River corridor. Take a look at our Bird List page where we keep a running update on birds we or our guests have seen on the property.

Please note that during some holiday weekends or special event weekends, there is a minimum 2 night stay required. You can find out about reservations availability by clicking the button below.
